Remembering

Coach Robbie!

Robbie had a keen intuition that Strikes Against Cancer would hold immense significance. I recall reaching out to him… He confidently remarked, “This is going to be Huge and be greater than Us.” Robbie’s foresight proved true.

Tragically, Robbie Robertson was called home by the Lord on March 15th, 2012. Despite facing his toughest challenges, Robbie remained a towering presence.

His booming voice echoed across ballparks, signaling Coach Robbie’s presence from miles away… “That’a Kid!”

For those of us fortunate enough to have known Robbie, his favorite advice to players was always, “Try Not To Suck!” At first glance, it may seem brash to parents, but Robbie had a unique way of easing tension, helping children relax, and bringing contagious smiles to their faces, instilling the confidence they needed in the moment. That was Robbie’s special gift to the game and our children.

Ever in pursuit of a chuckle, Robbie’s true passion lay in baseball fundamentals, mechanics, and teaching. During tryouts, he would assess how children absorbed information, determining their coachability.

Proudly, we can attest that Robbie propelled numerous players to the High School Varsity Level across the North Texas Community, and many have now advanced with college degrees, all thanks to his unwavering passion, love, and respect for the game.

We will love you eternally, and your memory remains vivid in our hearts every single day.
